2008 CV Grad Siera Sheehan named AE rookie of the week

Congratulations to 2008 Chenango Valley graduate Siera Sheehan on being named the rookie of the week in the America East Conference.  The following article is from the Hartford Hawks.

  "Cambridge, MA- University of Hartford softball hurler Siera Sheehan was named the America East Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 26 as announced by the conference on Monday.  In her lone appearance of the week, Sheehan threw a complete game shutout, leading Hartford to an 8-0 victory in Saturday's doubleheader split with Binghamton.  The rookie allowed just three hits while striking out a career high seven batters walking none, improving her overall record to 5-9 on the season.
  Hartford enters the final week of the regular season ranked fourth in the conference standings with a record of 9-7 in the America East (18-19 overall).  The Hawks will face in state rivals Central Connecticut for a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday, before wrapping up the regular season with a key three game conference series at UMBC. The top four teams in the conference will qualify for the 2009 America East Championship, which will be held at the site of the top seed on May 7-9.
  Siera Shehan is a 2008 Chenango Valley High School graduate.  She was Class B NY State 1st Team Pitcher and 1st team STAC (Southern Tier Athletic Conference) as well as East All Division All Star Pitcher both in 2008 and 2007.  In 2006 and 2005, she was STAC East All Division All Star Pitcher and STAC All Division First Team All Star, respectfully.  Siera is enrolled in the Business program as Marketing major at University of Hartford, Connecticut."
