Dani Koltz named week 5 Player of the Week

Posted Wednesday, May 13, 2009 by Larry Hendrickson
Offensively, #3 Dani Koltz, had a single against Oneonta, a single against Windsor, but then really showed her bat power against Susquehanna Valley on Friday when she hit a homerun over the center field fence to secure the 4 to 1 win in this pivotal matchup. This victory gave C.V. sole possession of first place in the division again.

Dani pitched 4 games during the week. Against Oneonta she racked up 12 strikeouts while only giving up 2 hits and 1 walk. Against Windsor she again had 12 strikeouts while only giving up 3 hits, 5 walks and 1 hbp. In the important S.V. game she had 7 strikeouts giving up just 2 hits and 2 walks. Then in a long grueling game against #1 state ranked class A, Maine Endwell she pitched 10.33 innings racking up 11 strikeouts and giving up 7 hits, 1 walk and 2 hbp. The only 2 runs to score in the game were the runners put on second as part of the international tie breaker rule.
