Taylor Hendrickson and Mikala King named Week 3 Players of the Week

Week 3 started against Seton on Monday with Mikala King getting 2 walks in her 4 plate appearances and Taylor Hendrickson going 2 for 3 from the plate. Taylor also pitched all 6 innings giving up 4 hits, 1 walk and racking up 11 strikeouts.

In the next game against Chenango Forks on Wednesday, Mikala King (Senior, Shortstop) went 3 for 3 with a single, a triple and a homerun. She had 3 RBIs on the day. Taylor Hendrickson (Junior, Pitcher) was 0 for 1 from the plate with 1 RBI. In the circle Taylor pitched the 1st 6 innings giving up 2 hits, 1 walk and getting 8 strikeouts. Mikala pitched the last inning giving up just 1 hit to complete the shutout.

In scrimmages on Saturday, Mikala went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk against Wyalusing while Taylor went 1 for 2 with a walk and 1 RBI. Taylor pitched all 8 inning as it was a 0-0 tie going into the International Tie Breaker. She racked up 16 strikeouts while only giving up 4 hits and 2 walks. Against Hauppauge Mikala pitched the first 5 innings giving up 7 hits, 2 walks and had 4 strikeouts. Taylor came in for the last 2 innings giving up 1 hit, 2 walks and had 1 strikeout. Then against Bayshore, Mikala went 1 for 3 while Taylor went 1 for 2 with a walk. Taylor pitched all 6 innings giving up just 1 hit and had 9 strikeouts.

For the week, Mikala went 5 for 13 for a .385 Batting Average, with 3 walks, 4 RBIs and a .500 On Base Percentage.

For the week, Taylor went 4 for 8 for a .500 Batting Average, with 2 walks, 1 RBI and a .600 On Base Percentage. She also racked up 45 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched.
